As I look closely at these everyday objects in the morning sun, I begin to see a whole world of color and the unique and living beauty in each flower. I become more aware of themes that run through my photographic works; the ephemeral nature of flowers, the inevitability of decay, and the promise of rebirth. The responses and associations are no longer simple. They provide a warm, intimate awareness of the life that resonates in all of us.
My best works are those that nudge the viewer to look a little closer, and linger. My passion is to inspire those who see my work, to pause, and look more closely at the plant and flower world that surrounds us, and connects nature to our humanity.
“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else.”
– Georgia O'Keefe
