My body of work invites the viewer up close, very close, to nature. I decontextualize my subjects to disrupt expectations deliberately, freeing the viewer to wonder anew. I hope to create a pause for curiosity to spark a desire to know more. My best works are those that nudge the viewer to look closer, and linger. My passion is to inspire those who see my work, to pause, and look more closely at the plant and flower world that surrounds us, and connects nature to our humanity.
I employ the unique and memorable intimacy of close up and macrophotography. I can explore the very structure of plants and flowers, their beautiful colors, patterns and textures, in unusual and fascinating ways.
The conversation between the macro world and the landscape, can inspire awareness, that moves, and informs others. My desire is to inspire, and nurture, that experience and awareness.
